ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Susan Pérez is a Bronx-born Nuyorican licensed physician in the states of New York and New Jersey. She obtained her D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree in 1996 from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York.

She completed a rotating internship in 1997 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx from 1997 through 2000.

Post-residency, she practiced as an internist at North Central Bronx Hospital outpatient clinic from 2000 through 2006. She then went on to become a certified wound specialist for Vohra Wound Physicians in nursing homes throughout the state of New Jersey from 2006 to 2020.

Dr. Pérez loves to travel — and now, read, too. She always looks forward to spending quality time with her family, friends and with God. And although she doesn’t do much Puerto Rican cooking, she can still make a mean arroz con gandules (rice with green pigeon peas), and coquito (coconut eggnog), which is a traditional dish and cocktail often enjoyed around the holidays.

Her love for the health and welfare of all inspired her to write this book. This is her first self-published, authored book.
